An 81-year-old woman was found beaten to death Tuesday in her Watts home, Los Angeles police said.
Investigators from the department’s Southeast Division said the body of the woman, who was not immediately identified, was found just inside the front door of her home in the 2300 block of Santa Ana Boulevard about 6 p.m.
The home was ransacked, although detectives said there appeared to be no signs of forced entry. Police said they could not immediately determine whether anything had been taken from the residence.
A neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said a relative discovered the body when she came over to check with the woman about Christmas Eve family activities.
