ROUNDUP : Northridge Women Falter Down Stretch

The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team led by seven points with 12 minutes 13 seconds left Thursday night before falling, 54-48, to Loyola Marymount at Matador Gymnasium.
The defeat extended Northridge’s losing streak to 21 games dating to last season.
The Matadors (0-17) trailed, 30-21, at halftime. An 18-3 run spearheaded by Christine Rumfola gave Northridge a 39-33 lead. Rumfola led Northridge with 19 points.
Northridge took its largest lead with 12:13 remaining, but the Lions answered with an 8-0 run for a 44-43 advantage.
The Matadors tied the score, 44-44, 46-46 and 48-48. But the 48th point, with 4:49 left, was the last for Northridge.
Loyola (6-7) scored with 4:22 remaining to take a lead (50-48) that it didn’t relinquish.
Northridge shot just 29.7% and committed 24 turnovers. Loyola, which ended a six-game losing streak, shot 33% and turned the ball over 22 times.
CSUN’s Shagarro Lattin scored 12 points and had seven rebounds.
