Allen Joins Race for 67th Assembly Seat

SACRAMENTO — Assemblywoman Doris Allen (R-Cypress) said Tuesday that she has decided to run in the newly created 67th Assembly seat, making it a three-way race against Orange County incumbents vying to represent the district covering the Huntington Beach-Fountain Valley area.
Allen said she has decided to run for the seat, despite the crowded field, because she has represented the area both in the Assembly and as a member of the Huntington Beach Union High School Board.
“I just feel like I’m going home,” Allen said about the new district created by a state Supreme Court redistricting plan. Allen joins Assemblymen Nolan Frizzelle (R-Fountain Valley) and Tom Mays (R-Huntington Beach) in declaring their intentions to run in the June Republican primary for the seat.
