Westchester Rolls to 82-63 Victory

Westchester High opened defense of its City Section 4-A Division title with an 82-63 victory over visiting Granada Hills on Wednesday night.
The Comets (24-2) were led by guard Jason Sanders, who scored 16 points. Lorenzo Ball added 13, James Gray had 12 and Maurice Robinson added 10.
Granada Hills (3-19) managed to stay close to Westchester for one quarter. The Highlanders tied the score, 19-19, on a three-point basket by forward Omary Miles at the end of the first quarter.
But the Comets went ahead for good on consecutive baskets by Gray at the start of the second quarter and extended their lead to 47-27 by halftime. Westchester led by as many as 30 points in the second half.
