SUN VALLEY : Man Stabbed to Death During Party

A Sun Valley man was stabbed to death after he became involved in an argument with another guest at a birthday party, Los Angeles police said Monday.
The victim, 35, whose name was withheld until relatives could be notified, was found by police suffering from a single wound to the chest in a living room Sunday in the 7300 block of Vineland Avenue. He was taken by ambulance to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he died about 1 1/2 hours later, Detective Sonny Medina said.
Police said witnesses identified the man’s attacker as Otoniel Aguilar Chavez, 25, of North Hollywood, who fled the scene.
Medina said the cause of the dispute was unknown but that both men had been drinking.
