A funeral for slain Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Richard B. Hammack, 31, of Lancaster, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, 44648 N. 15th St., Lancaster. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 38141 6th St. East, Palmdale, which is handling the arrangements. Burial will be at noon Monday at the Arvin Cemetery in Arvin, Calif. Hammack was killed Monday morning during a raid on a suspected methamphetamine sales den in Lancaster. He was a 7 1/2-year veteran of the department and had worked the past two years in the Antelope Valley.
