Van Nuys amateur heavyweight boxer John Bray was eliminated from U.S. Olympic team contention Saturday night and said he will turn pro in October. Bray lost a 5-0 decision to Marlon Simpkins of the U.S. Army in the heavyweight final at the Western Olympic trials at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. Light-heavyweight Jeremy Williams of Long Beach qualified for the June 10-14 Olympic trials at Worcester, Mass., by stopping Bobby Charlez of Phoenix in the first round. Super-heavyweight David Bostice of Los Angeles qualified with a 4-1 decision over Tyrone Campbell of Houston.
