HUNTINGTON BEACH : Police Seek Public’s Help in Rape Case
- Share via
Police Wednesday asked for the public’s help in identifying a man who entered a home through an open window early Saturday morning and raped an 86-year-old woman in her bedroom.
The intruder, believed to be in his late 30s or 40s, entered the woman’s home on Ross Lane about 2:25 a.m. Saturday, raped her and then demanded money. She told him she didn’t have any money, and the assailant left the single-story residence through the front door, Police Lt. Ed McErlain said.
The woman, who lived alone, was examined at a hospital and released.
The rape did not appear to be related to any other sexual assaults in Huntington Beach or surrounding communities, McErlain said.
Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Detective Chuck Thomas at (714) 536-5957.
