A 31-year-old Lancaster resident died Monday after a fight with several men in the parking lot of a Palmdale mini-mall, authorities said.
Reyes Martinez, 31, died at 10:17 a.m. at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Stoneman said.
Martinez and his cousin, Alfredo, 26, of Lancaster were injured Saturday about 9 p.m. in the fight at the mall in the 900 block of East Palmdale Boulevard, Stoneman said.
Martinez apparently was hit in the head with “some kind of heavy object,” and his cousin was stabbed several times in the upper body, Stoneman said. Alfredo Martinez was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital.
No one has been arrested and authorities have no motive for the fight, Stoneman said.
