Mexico Protests What It Calls a New Kidnaping by U.S.

MEXICO CITY — Mexico protested to the United States Wednesday over what it called the kidnaping of a Mexican citizen in the northern state of Sonora and his illegal transfer to U.S. territory.
The protest was the latest development in a dispute between the two countries sparked by a U.S. Supreme Court decision Monday supporting the 1990 abduction of a Mexican national from Mexico to face trial in the United States.
The ministry said Teodulo Romo Lopez was kidnapped in Naco, Sonora, and illegally transferred to the United States Saturday.
Earlier Wednesday, Mexico lifted a ban on activities of the Drug Enforcement Administration in Mexico. It imposed the ban Monday in the wake of the U.S. court ruling.
