Big Nuclear Plant Wins Approval: The government has approved an $11-billion effort to build the nation’s largest nuclear power plant in the southern province of Guangdong, the Hong Kong newspaper Wen Wei Po said. The 4,000-megawatt plant will be in the coastal county of Yangchun, 124 miles west of Hong Kong. Its capacity will be twice that of the Daya Bay nuclear plant being built in the province’s booming Pearl River Delta region, the paper said.
