Coca-Cola to Buy Back Shares: Coca-Cola Co. said its board authorized the purchase of up to 100 million of its common stock shares through the year 2000. The company said strong cash flow is allowing it to continue reinvesting in its high-return soft-drink business. Since the beginning of 1984, Coke has bought back more than 400 million shares, about 25% of its common stock outstanding. The stock traded Monday at $41.25, up 37.5 cents on the New York Stock Exchange.
