San Dimas Stays on the Ground and Soars Over Sonora, 26-7

SAN DIMAS — Greg Deffenbaugh rushed for 157 yards in 20 carries and scored two touchdowns as San Dimas defeated Sonora, 26-7, in a nonleague game at San Dimas Stadium.
Saint Wess Carson added 118 yards in 15 carries.
Deffenbaugh gave San Dimas a 7-0 lead by running 67 yards to cap a three-play, 88-yard drive, with 5 minutes 52 seconds left in the first quarter.
San Dimas scored on its first two possessions of the second half. The first came on an 18-yard field goal by Steve Musharbash with 11:28 to play in the second quarter, giving San Dimas a 10-0 lead.
The Saints scored on a 41-yard pass from Dustin Hall to Albert Vargas, capping a six-play drive, to take a 17-0 lead with 7:45 left in the second quarter.
Sonora cut into the Saints’ lead with 2:27 left in the half. Robert Knowles connected on a 10-yard pass to Brian Larson, capping a nine-play, 93-yard drive, which made the score 17-7 at the half.
Sonora was shut out in the second half as the Saints added a field goal and a touchdown.
