A Simi Valley man was arrested and more than two pounds of raw opium seized at his apartment Wednesday afternoon during a search that culminated a two-week investigation, authorities said.
Davood Farshiopanah, 36, was arrested on suspicion of possession of opium for sale after police found a kilogram of raw opium worth an estimated $100,000 in his apartment in the 1500 block of Patricia Avenue, said Simi Valley Police Sgt. Danny Dunbar.
As part of the investigation, Simi Valley police, assisted by personnel with the Ventura County district attorney, U. S. Customs and U. S. Postal Service, searched two other apartments in Patricia Avenue complexes, Dunbar said.
