Mexico Releases 473 Indian Prisoners

MEXICO CITY — The Mexican government has released 473 Indian prisoners after deciding they were wrongfully jailed, the attorney general’s office said Wednesday.
The announcement, released in conjunction with a civilian committee that reviews complaints of abuse, came one day after Amnesty International released a critical report on violations of indigenous rights in the Americas.
