INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts controlled the game, and finally, they won it.
The Colts wasted a huge statistical advantage but beat the New York Jets, 6-3, Sunday when Dean Biasucci, who missed three field-goal attempts earlier, kicked a 47-yard field goal three minutes into overtime.
“It’s about time,” said Biasucci, who had to wait through a timeout as New York tried to put even more pressure on his already shaky nerves. “I just wanted to put it through and go home.”
New York rookie Cary Blanchard tied the game with 30 seconds left in regulation on a 35-yard field goal.
Indianapolis (3-2) took the kickoff in overtime and moved 52 yards in eight plays before Biasucci kicked the game-winner.
Biasucci also made a 31-yarder in the second quarter.
