Citicorp New Issue to Reap $1 Billion: Citicorp stands to reap about $1 billion from a new issue of special preferred stock, and analysts said they expect strong demand from small investors for the shares. Citicorp’s investment bankers, Morgan Stanley & Co., priced the new issue at $14.75 a share, with a yield of 8.25%, market sources said. The pricing was pending Securities and Exchange Commission approval. An estimated 68 million shares of the special stock will be sold to investors--more than double the originally planned offering of 32.5 million shares. Barring any regulatory obstacles, the shares should begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange today.
