Pop Album Chart : Brooks’ ‘Chase’ Still Winning the Race
- Share via
R.E.M.’s “Automatic For the People” entered the pop album chart at No. 2, but is still a distant second, chasing Garth Brooks’ “The Chase,” the overwhelming leader. Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Some Gave All” is hanging in there impressively (No. 3) amid the onslaught of fall albums by big-name artists. Sinead O’Connor’s “Am I Not Your Girl?” continues to slip, No. 32 to No. 47. Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road” tops the pop singles chart for a record 11th straight week, but Madonna’s sizzling “Erotica,” which rocketed to No. 3 in two weeks, should be the new No. 1 pop single.
* Bushwick Bill has a new solo album that’s sexist and, naturally, is selling well. It jumped from No. 43 to No. 32.
