Belmont 35, Verdugo Hills 7--Ben Martinez rushed for 128 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns, including a 49-yard score on Belmont’s first possession, to pace the Sentinels in a Northern Conference game.
Belmont, unbeaten in league play, had 346 total yards of offense and allowed Verdugo Hills just 112. The Dons’ only score came on Eddie Powell’s 17-yard reception from David Bryant to close the gap to 14-7 in the second quarter.
