LOCAL HERO: Damon Berryhill, former Laguna Beach High School and Orange Coast College standout, is the only Orange County native in the World Series. . . . Berryhill, who became the Braves’ starting catcher when Greg Olson broke his ankle late in the season, batted only .167 in National League playoffs. But he opened the Series with a bang Saturday night in Game 1, hitting a three-run homer in the Braves’ 3-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
