Dave Winfield, who was drafted in three pro sports--baseball by the San Diego Padres, football by the Minnesota Vikings and basketball by the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Stars of the ABA--said of Deion Sanders’ two-sport involvement:
“More power to him, but it’s not something I wanted to do. I could have played football or basketball and played well, but I’d have also probably been retired by now.”
On the other hand: “I might still be playing power forward and dishing off to Dominique Wilkins,” Winfield said.
