The Sherman Oaks Street Fair & Carnival held earlier this month made $50,000, of which $29,000 went to five local schools, organizers said.
“We did very well,” said Jeff Brain of the Greater Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce, which organized the event. The remainder of the proceeds went to the chamber.
The carnival and fair made $15,000 last year, Brain said. The carnival ran for three days, ending with the one-day street fair during which several blocks of Ventura Boulevard were closed and occupied by food and craft booths.
