AIR ATTACK: With all the emphasis by public agencies and environmental groups on the need to reduce freeway traffic to reduce Southern California smog, not everyone buys their logic, according to the county’s annual transportation survey (B3). Only 27% polled say car-pooling and public transit can significantly improve air quality. . . . Says pollster Mark Baldassare: “A lot of people still don’t make the connection between their driving behavior and air pollution.”
