Emulex Corp.: The Costa Mesa computer products company reported a profit of nearly $2 million, or 18 cents a share, for its first fiscal quarter. That compared with earnings of $604,000, or 6 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter, which ended Sept. 27, was $26.4 million, up from $22.7 million. That included a loss of $1.7 million from discontinued operations.
