SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Officers Collect Food for Local Families
- Share via
Responding to the impact the slumping economy is having on many households, officers in the San Juan Capistrano office of the California Highway Patrol have started a food drive to aid local needy families.
Officer Tony Camilleri said the canned food donated in the coming weeks will be distributed before Thanksgiving to needy families in San Juan Capistrano.
Camilleri said this is the first time the office has sponsored such a campaign.
“We’re just strictly doing it on our own,” he said. “We have a couple officers who have been living in the area for 20 to 30 years. They know specific places to take the canned goods, such as churches.”
Those interested in making a donation can call Camilleri at (714) 661-6215, or bring the items to the office at 32951 Camino Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano.
