Occidental Begins Shipping Russian Oil: Occidental Petroleum has begun exporting oil from western Siberia, apparently the first such exports involving a joint venture between a U.S. company and a Russian oil entity. The 50-50 venture, Vanyoganneft, is owned by Los Angeles-based Occidental and Chernogorneft Enterprise, a Russian production association. The two agreed earlier this year to rehabilitate the Vanyogan and Ayogan oil fields in western Siberia. Production from 100 operating wells, now 40,000 barrels a day, is expected to grow to 65,000 barrels by 1994. The venture plans to invest $800 million during the next 25 years, using cash generated from crude oil sales. Occidental will market the oil.
