Ashley, who earlier missed two games with a broken arm, had three receptions and three interceptions in the Bruins’ 33-10 win over Moore League rival Millikan. Ashley’s three interceptions netted him 85 yards. He returned two of the interceptions inside the 15-yard line. Both led to Wilson touchdowns. On offense, he caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Other top performers:
Thyya Ung, the Paramount running back, gained 151 yards and scored two touchdowns as the Pirates defeated San Gabriel Valley League opponent Gahr, 36-0.
Albert Smith, La Mirada tight end who moved to running back when starter Ryan Hura suffered a concussion in the first quarter, scored four touchdowns as the Matadores defeated Suburban League opponent Bellflower, 38-6. Smith rushed for three touchdowns and scored the fourth on a pass reception.
