ORANGE : Forum Scheduled for City Candidates

Voters can meet the candidates for mayor, City Council, city clerk and treasurer at a forum held by the Orange Chamber of Commerce tonight.
Each candidate attending the forum will give a two-minute opening statement and then answer questions submitted in writing from audience members.
Incumbent Mayor Gene Beyer is facing challenges from Councilwoman Joanne Coontz and civic activists Carole Walters and Juan P. Serrano-Nieblas.
Five candidates are vying for the two open City Council seats: Councilman Fred L. Barrera, Councilman Mike Spurgeon, businessman Thomas Debin, Robert Meano and James Wronski.
Nancy Ann Just and incumbent Marilyn Jensen are competing for the post of city clerk, and Helen Walker and Mark Weiss are vying for the position of city treasurer.
The candidates forum will begin at 7 p.m. in Hassinger Hall at Chapman University, 333 N. Glassell St.
