Ventura : Gunman Takes $300 From Grocery Store

A man armed with a revolver robbed a Vons grocery store in Ventura before escaping on foot with about $300, police said Thursday.
The incident occurred about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at 2764 E. Thompson Blvd. The suspect, estimated to be 30 to 35 years old, came to a checkout stand and placed a bag of tomatoes on the counter, police said.
He then pulled a small-caliber revolver from his waistband and told the clerk, “Come on! Come on!”
The man escaped with the cash and food stamps.
