LANCASTER : Drywall Workers’ Picketing Limited
- Share via
A Lancaster judge Thursday issued a preliminary injunction ordering striking drywall workers not to picket or gather within 100 feet of five sites in Lancaster and Palmdale where houses are being built by the Kaufman & Broad Co.
The ruling by Superior Court referee Eugene Siegel supersedes a temporary restraining order Siegel issued Oct. 9. The developer previously had obtained other court orders limiting picketing by strikers at its projects in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Attorney Steven M. Schneider, who represented the development company, said Siegel’s order will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Striking drywall workers have been picketing construction sites throughout Southern California, sometimes leading to disruptions, confrontations with workers and arrests.
