HOT TO TROT: The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce 15th Annual Turkey Trot is expected to draw about 3,000 runners on Thanksgiving morning, making it the biggest 10-kilometer race on Turkey Day on the West Coast and second only to Dallas nationwide. . . . It all started in 1977 with a handful of Dana Point businessmen who wanted something to do on the morning before the big feast, says Chamber President Tim Shuey. “Those turkeys started the first race, and now it’s become very big; it drew people from five states last year.”
