BAKERSFIELD — Kern County sheriff’s detectives Sunday investigated the slaying of three people whose bodies were found in a house near a pet adoption center.
The bodies of two men and a woman were found in the house late Saturday afternoon, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Alberta Dougherty. Investigators declined to provide details or release the victims’ names.
The house is owned by the Pet Adoption Center of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which is next door. A part-time caretaker for the center lived in the house where the bodies were found, said Marti Overfield, a supervisor for the SPCA.
