Palomar, Mt. SAC to Play in O.C. Bowl

COSTA MESA — Mt. San Antonio and Palomar have accepted bids to meet in the second game of the Dec. 5 Simple Green Orange County Bowl doubleheader, Game Manager Doug Bennett said Sunday.

Mt. San Antonio (8-2) won the Northern Division and Palomar (9-1) won the Southern Division of the Mission Conference.

Saddleback and City College of San Francisco, the only 10-0 teams in the state, meet in the other game. Saddleback is ranked No. 1 in the nation and the state and San Francisco is No. 5 in the nation and No. 2 in California.

Mt. San Antonio and Palomar, the defending J.C. Grid-Wire national champion, are tentatively scheduled to meet at 1:30 p.m. The Saddleback-San Francisco game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
