With unemployment hovering around 10% in Southern California, the most logical solution would be to retrain those unemployed.
However, with an amazing lack of foresight, Sacramento has cut funds for the state university and community college systems so severely that would-be students are priced out of higher education and the opportunity to change their careers. Soon only the financially well-off can attend college.
Our supposed leaders in Sacramento have managed to shoot themselves in the foot with both barrels. Their “logic” is difficult to fathom.
