Jack Britton, a former Angel chef, sued the team, accusing owner Gene Autry and his wife of racial discrimination. Britton contends he was forced to retire after 26 years by Autry’s wife, Jackie, and that she taunted him with racial epithets because he is black. Mark Rosenthal, a lawyer for the Angels, said the charges are “completely false and defamatory.”

Rosenthal said the suit was filed Jan. 22 in Orange County Superior Court and no hearing date has been set.
