The City Council on Tuesday approved a request by the Redevelopment Agency to consolidate four parcels of land into a 14-acre retail center.
The properties are owned by the Glendora Community Redevelopment Agency. The city is in the final stages of negotiations to anchor the property with a WalMart retail store.
The land, at the southeast corner of Auto Centre Drive and Lone Hill Avenue, s surrounded by automobile dealerships and light industry.
In other action, the council allocated about $600,000 in federal funds to several city programs.
A home rehabilitation program and the La Fetra Senior Services Center will each receive about $200,000. A program to correct seismic code violations will receive about $174,000, with almost $27,000 going to administrative expenses.
The home rehabilitation program has provided interest-free deferred loans for home repairs to low- to moderate-income homeowners since 1974.
