Educational Testing to Screen for Problems
- Share via
Cal Poly Pomona has begun operating a mobile-testing unit that will give parents in South-Central Los Angeles an opportunity to identify learning challenges their children may face.
The Child and Family Services office on wheels will deliver free educational testing to screen for possible developmental delays in speech, cognition, social and emotional development and impaired motor development.
When problems are detected, parents will be given recommendations for treatment, including referrals to low- or no-cost public agencies.
The effort is part of a larger three-year Urban Community Services grant, awarded to several Cal State University campuses by the U.S. Department of Education.
