A robbery suspect died Wednesday night after being shot outside an Anaheim bar by one of the bar’s employees.
Samuel D. Huston, 33, of Buena Park was pronounce dead at Martin Luther Hospital.
The robber, who was wearing a ski mask, entered the Linbrook Inn, in the 2100 block of West Lincoln Avenue, at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday and pointed a gun at several people and demanded money, said an Anaheim police official.
The man approached the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing through the front door, said Sgt. Steve Ronig of the Anaheim police.
As the gunman left the bar and ran toward the rear alley he was met by one of the bar’s employees who had a handgun. The employee used a rear entrance to surprise the robber, Ronig said.
The 61-year-old employee, who police would not name, told investigators he fired his gun when the robber pointed the gun he had toward the employee, Ronig said.
Investigators questioned and released the employee but are continuing the investigation.
