Aikman to Appeal $10,000 Fine

Troy Aikman of the Dallas Cowboys was fined $10,000 by the NFL on Thursday for leaving last Sunday’s Pro Bowl before the game was over, but his agent, Leigh Steinberg, said that Aikman would appeal.
Aikman met with Commissioner Paul Tagliabue on Wednesday and told him that he left before the game was over because he had an early flight to catch so he could make a Monday morning meeting.
“What happened in Hawaii was just a mix-up of a confusing set of circumstances,” Steinberg said. “Troy thought he informed the right authorities. Obviously he did not. A fine is completely inappropriate.”
