HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL SOUTHERN SECTION GIRLS’ PLAYOFFS : Jones Leads Thousand Oaks Past Palmdale

Marion Jones had 22 points and 16 rebounds to lead Thousand Oaks High to a 56-29 victory over Palmdale in the second round of the Southern Section Division I-A girls’ basketball playoffs at Thousand Oaks on Saturday night.

Kim Schielke scored 18 for Palmdale, but the Falcons (19-7) were limited to season-low scoring by the pressure defense of second-ranked Thousand Oaks (27-0). The Lancers held Palmdale to 14 points in the final three quarters and forced 20 turnovers.
