I am writing to set the record straight and give credit where credit is due regarding a letter (Feb. 8) that improperly credited LACTC Executive Director Neil Peterson for the art program associated with the new Metro Red Line.
The art program and funding for it was initiated by the RTD board of directors and enthusiastically implemented by RTD’s former general manager, John A. Dyer, and carried forward by the district’s present general manager, Alan F. Pegg. It was a citizen advisory committee to the RTD board composed of five art experts who selected the artists for the stations.
