A Camarillo electrical-component manufacturer will move 140 employees from the company’s Santa Monica location to its plant at Central Avenue just south of the Ventura Freeway, company officials announced.
G & H Technology Inc. officials said they will begin transferring workers next week and expect to complete the move by May, bringing the number of employees at the Camarillo plant to about 360.
The additional personnel will make G & H the seventh-largest employer in Camarillo. The largest is 3M Corp., which has 950 employees at its Lewis Road plant.
G & H officials decided to close their plant in Santa Monica and consolidate operations in Camarillo when the company was sold by Penn Central Corp. to a Los Angeles investment group in December.
The company manufactures electrical and fiber-optic products for undersea telecommunications cabling and for the aerospace and defense industries. Company President Carl Weiss said G & H will renovate its 113,000-square-foot plant in Camarillo to accommodate the additional employees, who range from engineers to assembly workers.
