When Molle transferred to Saddleback from San Diego State, people assumed he was doing so in an effort to score more than the two points he averaged at SDSU.
But Molle said he was more interested in winning as a team than in any individual accomplishments,
He turned in some impressive individual accomplishments this season that helped Saddleback win the Orange Empire Conference title.
Molle came off a season-low 10 points in a 64-63 victory over Riverside Feb. 12 to score 32 as Saddleback rolled to an 85-69 victory over Cypress to clinch the title a week ago.
Molle, a 6-foot-4 guard from Irvine High, led Saddleback in scoring with 18 points a game.
Other top performers:
Saddleback’s Kevin Fricka, who had 24 points and 22 rebounds in a pair of Saddleback victories.
Bryan Hakala of Cypress, who had a career-high 25 points, including five three-pointers, as Cypress beat Golden West, 77-65, in overtime Friday to clinch a tie for second with Riverside.
