CBS Television will broadcast “The Wizard of Oz” Friday night at 8, and the timing couldn’t be better for Planet Hollywood. The Santa Ana restaurant has put together a collection of “Oz” memorabilia, including a pair of ruby slippers which the restaurant says is one of four pairs used in the film.
The display also includes Judy Garland’s Dorothy costume, an Emerald City jacket and jeweled gloves, a Munchkin hat, and the hat and boots worn by Wicked Witch Margaret Hamilton.
The collection will be on display until the end of April. 1641 West Sunflower. (714) 434-7827.
The Rose & Crown Pub and Restaurant is pouring its tap ales and serving its fish and chips from a new location. Last Saturday, the British-style restaurant moved into a vacant space in downtown Anaheim that formerly held a Fuddruckers franchise. The Rose & Crown had been located on State College Boulevard in Anaheim since 1981.
Owners Keith and Ann Phillips said the lease in their former location expires in October, and they could not reach an agreement with their landlord. Also, the city’s Redevelopment Agency has extended the Phillipses a $250,000 loan to reopen in an area that Anaheim has been trying to rejuvenate. The new location is “upscale by a couple of steps,” Keith Phillips said. 20 S. Anaheim Blvd. (714) 778-5606.
