Ralphs Promotes Patrick Collins

Ralphs Grocery Co. recently announced the following promotions and retirements:
Patrick Collins was appointed vice chairman and chief operating officer. He had been president and chief operating officer.
Alfred A. Marasca succeeds Collins as president of the Los Angeles-based supermarket chain. He joined the company in 1957 and most recently served as executive vice president of retail operations.
Lee Mueller has been promoted to senior vice president of store operations, succeeding James W. Brown, who will retire March 31 after 50 years of service. Mueller most recently served as division group vice president.
James Warren was named senior vice president of distribution and manufacturing and will continue to be responsible for all functions of warehousing, transportation and manufacturing facilities.
Alan G. Gray was promoted to senior vice president of administration from group vice president.
Jane Rice has been named vice president.
Marc E. Bercoon has been name general counsel and corporate secretary of Carter Hawley Hale Stores Inc. in Los Angeles.
Bercoon, 32, joined the company in 1992 as legal counsel and assistant to the vice chairman.
Carter Hawley operates the Broadway department store chain.
