A Pasadena woman was killed and her 10-year-old son was critically wounded Thursday during a robbery at their family-owned jewelry store, police said.
The woman, a co-owner of City Jewelry in the 400 block of Colorado Avenue, was shot in the neck and chest, and the boy was shot in the head during the 6:15 p.m. robbery, said Lt. Jack Robertson of the Pasadena Police Department.
They were taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital, Robertson said, where the 39-year-old woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of her family, died.
Her son’s condition was “very grave,” Robertson said, and the boy remained in extremely critical condition Thursday night.
Police said the suspects, a man and woman, fled in a waiting car. Robertson said there were other people in the store, but no one else was hurt.
