Michele Bartoli of Italy won the strike-marred Tour of Italy by winning the last stage of the cycling race at Capo D’Orlando, Sicily. The event ended a day after a demonstration by more than 100 cyclists forced postponement of the next-to-last stage. The protesters refused to ride because of what they deemed dangerous road conditions.
