Leslie Fay Expects to Post a Loss for 1992: Women’s apparel retailer Leslie Fay Cos. Inc., dogged recently by reports of accounting irregularities, said it expects to post a loss for 1992 before restructuring costs. Leslie Fay expects to show a loss of $13.7 million, or 72 cents a share, on sales of $777.4 million for the fiscal year ended Jan. 3. The announcement comes after a recent disclosure of accounting irregularities affected 1991 results and caused a sell-off in the company’s stock. Consequently, Leslie Fay will restate its net income for fiscal 1991.
