Federal and state emergency agencies will open a center in Acton on Monday to assist residents and business owners who sustained losses in recent storms.
Officials from both the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state Office of Emergency Services will be at the new disaster application center at the High Desert School, 3620 Antelope Woods Road, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Federal, state and local officials will be available to assist in applying for disaster aid, including temporary housing, mortgage and rental assistance, funds to assist in the rebuilding of homes and businesses, and low-interest loans. This will be the fifth such center opened in Los Angeles County since the area was declared a disaster site. Other centers are in East Los Angeles, Arcadia, West Los Angeles and Long Beach.
For assistance by telephone, people can call 800-462-9029. A telecommunications device for the deaf line is available at 800-462-7585.
