Bell Gardens Falls in 2nd Round of Playoffs

After a scoreless first half, Mike Brunet scored on a header 20 minutes into the second half to give Brea-Olinda a 1-0 win Tuesday over host Bell Gardens in a second-round Southern Section Division III soccer playoff game.
Goalie Jeff Miller had nine saves for Brea-Olinda (14-2-4) to post his 12th shutout of the season. Brea-Olinda has given up only three goals in the last 14 games.
Bell Gardens finished the season at 17-6-1.
